FIDA-Kenya Hosts Debriefing Session for Judicial Candidates: Reflection, Resilience and Renewal in Leadership

Today, FIDA-Kenya, in partnership with UN Women, convened a reflective debriefing session for women candidates who participated in the recent Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recruitment process for judgeship positions. The session provided a safe and supportive space for participants to openly reflect on their experiences, share lessons learned, receive peer support, and explore future leadership opportunities within the judiciary and beyond.

The facilitators, including Hon. Patricia Nyaundi, SC (Judge of the High Court), Ms. Anna C. Konuche, and Mr. Wycliffe Mutsembi, took participants through guided discussions on resilience, wellness, leadership, and navigating setbacks. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to serving justice and advancing women’s representation in decision-making spaces.

The engagement also provided valuable insights that will help strengthen future leadership and mentorship support programmes for women pursuing judicial and other public leadership positions.

At FIDA-Kenya, we celebrate the courage, excellence, and determination demonstrated by all the candidates. While not every journey leads to an immediate appointment, every step contributes to building a stronger, more inclusive judiciary and a more equitable society.
