Wanjiru Kamanda
Deputy Executive Director and Head of Programs
Ms. Wanjiru Kamanda is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a holder of a masters of law degree from the University of Nairobi. She has more than 11 years post admission experience in managing human rights, gender, governance and election dispute resolution programs. She currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director and Head of Programs at FIDA-Kenya.
Prior to joining FIDA-Kenya she was engaged by the International Development Law Organization as a legal consultant and seconded to the Judiciary Committee on Elections (JCE) where she headed the legal research and election petitions monitoring teams at the JCE Secretariat. Wanjiru has also worked as a Program Manager at Concern Worldwide where she was managing a Governance and Advocacy Program.
She is passionate about the protection of rights of the vulnerable in society and has been an active FIDA Kenya member for many years. She has also served as a member of the Law Society Kenya Gender Committee.
