Transformative Justice Programme

Transformative justice (T J) formerly known as the rights team aims to work towards sustainable trans formative justice for women in Kenya. It consolidates the gain made in the past and use them for trans formative in the justice system.

Civic Engagement FIDA deals with engagement with police, military, public administration and municipal civil servants; civic education provisioning and awareness on progressive constitution provisions rights monitoring. It also focuses on engagements with community and municipal bearers through theater performances, seminars, community forums, conferences and media.

The Realities and Agency of Informal Sector Workers

Agenda Four This intervention is designed to monitor the rolling out of the peace accord through its various instruments and commissions. It undertakes activities relating to transitional justice with specific emphasis on gender needs.

Constitutional and Legislative Reforms FIDA’ s motivation being historical, it deals with constitutional matters independent of agenda responsive. This is done through gender auditing and drafting of such legislation and policies, engaging in strategic partnership with parliament and different government agencies.

Policy and Practice Advocacy. This programme entails advocacy around policy and practice through lobbying, representation, and campaigns.

Treaty Monitoring and Research. In Monitoring Government compliance with international rights instruments affecting women FIDA Kenya undertakes research to inform the status of women and prepare shadow report of findings. The shadow reports are presented to treaty monitoring bodies like the convention of the elimination of  all forms of discrimination against women and commission on the status of women, among others.
