Progress of ongoing PIL cases:Women Labour Rights Case

The case seeks to secure Women’s Labour rights in the work place and was filed in August 2012 at the Industrial Court. The case was scheduled for hearing on 21st January 2015 at the Industrial Court. The case was to proceed through viva voice evidence. One of the petitioners, agreed to settle the case out of a court after being paid K​sh 309,730/=.The 2nd claimant Beatrice Awuor had agreed to settle the case out of Court. A consent was recorded to that effect and she was paid Ksh 205,000/= all inclusive. The 3rd Respondent's Advocate also sought an adjournment to consult on his client on settling the case out of court. The case was scheduled for mentioned on 19th February 2015. The 3rd Respondent sought more time to consult. The three petitioners are agreed to settle the case out of Court. The case will proceed on issues of policy and law.
