Criminal Case No. 1924 of 2013 Republic vs. Dismas Oduor.

The case concerns gang rape of E.A.O, a 16-year old girl by the six youths on 26th June 2013 while coming from Disco Matanga of her late grandfather. After raping her she was thrown into pit latrine. As a result of the rape she fell and developed double obstetric fistula and a spinal injury. She underwent surgery at Gynocare Fistula Centre in Eldoret. The suspects were arrested and ordered to cut grass at the Tingolo Administration Camp before being released on June 27. Three accused ran away about three were arrested and charged with two counts- Gang rape Indecent Act with Child or Adult and Grievous harm. The Three men were convicted and sentenced to 15 years for rape, and 7 years for causing grievous bodily harm. FIDA was requested to nominate one of our pro bono lawyers, Gladys wamaitha who is a Gazetted special prosecutor on GBV to join the prosecution team.
