Public Interest Litigation Cases that FIDA has Filed

This case challenged the state’s failure to adequately address the plights of internally displaced persons. FIDA was appointed to the role of secretariat and with her partners is seeking state responsibility, accountability and reparations for the harm suffered by IDP as a result of forcible displacement during post election violence in 2007/2008. The case has since proceeded for hearing with five witnesses giving evidence. On 28th May 2015 the lead counsel argued the application for access to information. Ruling was delivered on 5th July 2015. Subsequent hearings were held on 7th and 8th July 2015.
