Institutional Strengthening

The institutional objective under strategic leadership and governance is to build and service FIDA Kenya structures that are efficient, effective and responsive to stakeholders needs. The Council members provide a critical function in providing the strategic direction to the organization. Each council member is in charge of at least one of FIDA Kenya’s products and services teams. The council members also report at the annual and bi-annual RBM sessions on the team results. The strategic leadership and governance team comprise of the Council members, Executive Director, Personal Assistant to the Executive Director, heads of functions at FIDA Kenya, Deputy Executive Director (head of programmes), Monitoring and Evaluation officer, Finance and corporate affairs heads of team. The Executive Director is the head of the strategic leadership and governance team. The Executive Director who is also the Council secretary ensures that FIDA members are organized into specialized committees that enrich the work of programmes as well as providing consultancy services under the FIDA consultancy wing. FIDA memberships have intensive and extensive expertise on gender issues that should be accessed by organizations requiring consultancy services.

The programme support unit under the strategic leadership and governance function is to develop and service financial information systems, management information systems, monitoring and evaluation systems that provide timely, appropriate and relevant information to all the various functions of FIDA Kenya. The programme support unit is the focal point for programmatic results. It has two critical functions first is coordinating the monitoring and evaluation functions at FIDA i.e. the results based management (RBM) framework, mid-term evaluations, programme evaluations; and secondly compiling reports and producing publications (both electronic on the website and print type) from the various teams of FIDA Kenya to inform future interventions and learning.
