With the increasing need to serve more women, girls, and children, FIDA-Kenya has embarked on a forward-looking sustainability plan to strengthen our institutional capacity. Strengthened institutional capacity will allow the organisation to reach the 47 counties that make up Kenya more effectively and dispense much-needed legal aid services. Central to this plan is establishing the FIDA-Kenya Mediation Centre, facility that will host essential services and programs to enhance access to justice and empower women, girls, and children in Kenya. The FIDA-Kenya Mediation Centre will also leverage information technology to access justice through hosting the FIDA-Kenya Virtual Justice Hub. FIDA-Kenya is a famed organisation in information technology and was awarded the most innovative institution in ICT in Kenya by the Nairobi Legal Awards. The technological innovations necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic have been sustained through implementing virtual justice and e-courts by justice stakeholders throughout Kenya. The FIDA-Kenya Mediation Centre will cater to various critical needs, including: Mediation and Counseling Centre for the public. Legal Aid Clinic Space for FIDA-Kenya clients. Temporary Safe Space for vulnerable women and children. FIDA-Kenya Women and Girls Leadership Centre. FIDA-Kenya Virtual Justice Hub.
